Job summary

The Energy CENTS Coalition (ECC) in Saint Paul, MN seeks a Program Specialist to support data entry and database tasks for energy assistance programs. The role includes processing applications, handling phone inquiries, and coordinating outreach with partners.

Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., full-time. ECC provides medical and dental insurance, a 401(k), life insurance, PTO, and a professional development budget to employees.

Qualifications

• Ability to enter program data accurately and efficiently.
• Excellent computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Database end-user experience required.
• Ability to perform database updates, manage database security, and database development experience preferred.
• Reliability and commitment to a weekly schedule.
• Excellent oral communication and ability to work with people.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong commitment to improving lives of low-income people; nonprofit experience.
• Knowledge of low-income energy assistance programs.

The Energy CENTS Coalition (ECC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit based in Saint Paul, MN. Our mission is to promote affordable utility service for low- and fixed-income Minnesotans through advocacy, bill payment and energy conservation assistance programs.

Primary Duties

The Program Director will assign tasks to the Program Specialist including, but not limited to, the following:

• Enteringand processing applications and relevant data
• Processing incoming and outgoing weekly and monthly database files
• Answering phones and providing accurate program information and appropriate referrals
• Perform program outreach such as calls, mailings, maintaining referral partnerships and special projects
• Research records for various information as requested.
• Other program-related tasks as assigned

Experience

Required

• Ability to enter program data accurately and efficiently

Preferred

• Familiarity with additional low-income financial assistance programs preferred

• Proficiency in Spanish, Hmong, Somali, or Karenni
