Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Service Engineer to provide technical support and engineering expertise to customers and maintenance teams across Indonesia. You will troubleshoot issues, monitor fleet performance, and coordinate maintenance to maximise asset availability and uptime.

The role requires a technical qualification, strong analytical skills, and excellent stakeholder communication. The position is onsite five days a week with safety and continuous improvement at the core.

Qualifications

• A trade, engineering, or related technical qualification.
• Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, or technical support within rail, heavy industry, manufacturing, or similar environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to fault finding.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
• A strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
• The ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands, and respond effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Experience using asset management, maintenance, or engineering systems would be highly regarded

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers and operational teams.
• Monitor equipment and fleet performance to identify issues and improve reliability.
• Coordinate maintenance and repair activities to minimise downtime and maximise asset availability.
• Work collaboratively with Engineering, Operations, and customer stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Support investigations into equipment failures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate technical records, reporting, and system data.
• Promote our commitment to safety, quality, and customer service excellence.
