JAC Recruitment, on behalf of a leading packaging manufacturer, seeks a Quality Assistant General Manager to strengthen the quality function across multiple operations in Indonesia. The role leads QA, QC, QMS, laboratories, and drives a culture of excellence.

You will collaborate with senior management, oversee audits (GMP, ISO), CAPA, and continuous improvement initiatives, and mentor a large quality team toward senior leadership within the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
• Minimum 10 years in quality management in packaging/pharma and regulated industries.
• Strong leadership, audits, and CAPA experience.
• Business-level English proficiency.
• Experience with GMP, ISO 15378, ISO 22000, HACCP is preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Quality Assistant General Manager will play a key role in leading and strengthening the organization's quality management function within a leading packaging manufacturing business serving highly regulated industries. The position is responsible for driving quality excellence, regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple operations.

Working closely with senior management and cross-functional teams, this role will lead quality assurance, quality control, laboratory, and quality management system activities while developing a strong quality culture throughout the organization. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute strategically to business growth and operational excellence, with a clear pathway toward a senior leadership position.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), and Quality Management System (QMS) activities across the organization.
• Develop and implement quality strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory, industry, and customer requirements.
• Oversee a large quality organization and drive team development, succession planning, and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO 15378, ISO 22000, HACCP, and other relevant quality management standards.
• Lead customer, supplier, certification, and internal audits while ensuring timely resolution of audit findings.
• Manage customer complaints, quality incidents, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and root cause investigations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through risk management, quality tools, and data-driven decision making.
• Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other departments to improve product quality and operational performance.
• Monitor quality KPIs and provide strategic recommendations to management for business and quality improvement.
• Manage supplier quality programs and maintain strong relationships with customers and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical, Physics, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Quality Management within packaging, pharmaceutical, food, FMCG, or other regulated manufacturing industries.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems, including GMP, ISO 15378, ISO 22000, HACCP, and related standards.
• Proven leadership experience managing quality teams and driving organizational improvements.
• Experience handling customer audits, supplier quality management, compliance, and certification activities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Business-level English proficiency.
• Experience in flexible packaging, pharmaceutical packaging, food packaging, plastics, or related manufacturing industries is highly preferred.
• Experience leading quality transformation projects and continuous improvement initiatives will be an advantage.
