PT Dover Chemical is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to manage sourcing of chemical raw materials and coordinate with R&D, QC/QA, and other departments. The role involves evaluating quotations, ensuring spec compliance, and supporting data-driven purchasing decisions.

The candidate should possess a chemistry or chemical engineering background, strong English, and excellent negotiation and analytical skills. Willingness to travel to the Jakarta office and to Cilegon and overseas is required.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering from a reputable university.
• Fresh graduates are welcome; candidates with at least three years of relevant Purchasing/QC experience have an advantage.
• Excellent English written and spoken; strong communication and coordination skills.

Job Responsibilities

• New Material Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and source new direct materials for special projects, including chemical raw materials and other materials required for product development.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with R&D, Technical, QC/QA, and other relevant departments to clarify material specifications, technical requirements, and purchasing needs.
• Supplier Quotation and Analysis: Request, collect, compare, and analyze quotations from approved suppliers and potential new suppliers. Prepare a comparative analysis covering price, quality, specifications, lead time, and other relevant commercial terms.
• Purchasing Planning: Support purchasing decisions by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing purchasing data, market trends, and supplier information. Complete and submit the supplier quotation comparison within three working days of receiving a complete purchasing request and the necessary specifications.
• Technical and Commercial Clarification: Discuss and resolve any technical or commercial discrepancies between supplier quotations and the requested specifications before proceeding with a purchase.
• Quality and Quantity Assurance: Ensure that purchased samples, laboratory instruments, equipment, and supplies comply with the approved specifications and quantities.
• Delivery Monitoring: Monitor purchasing progress and delivery schedules to ensure that purchased items arrive within the required delivery timeframe. Coordinate with suppliers and internal users to resolve delays, specification discrepancies, damaged goods, and other delivery-related issues.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all necessary permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals are obtained for applicable chemical raw materials and other imported or locally sourced materials.
• Import Administration: Coordinate and ensure the proper handling of import procedures and related documentation, including document filing, recordkeeping, and traceability.
• Purchasing Documentation and Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchasing records, supplier information, quotations, comparative analyses, and other relevant documents in accordance with company procedures.
• Supplier Assessment and Development: Evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities to develop new suppliers and improve existing suppliers in terms of quality, cost, delivery, service, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry (Natural Sciences/Chemistry major) or Chemical Engineering from a reputable university.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply; candidates with at least three years of relevant experience in Purchasing, Quality Control (QC), or a related field will be an advantage.
• Honest, proactive, goal-oriented, analytical, patient, and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of responsibility.
• Good command of written and spoken English is essential.
• Strong communication, coordination, and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, for data analysis, quotation comparisons, and purchasing reports.
• Willing to work at the Jakarta office and travel regularly to the Cilegon factory and overseas, as required.
