Job description

PREDMET is looking for a Purchasing & China Sourcing Specialist with strong Mandarin skills to manage sourcing and purchasing activities with suppliers and factories in China. This position is focused on supplier sourcing, negotiations, purchasing, cost calculation, and order follow-up. International logistics and customs clearance are handled by our logistics partners. The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for coordinating with suppliers and logistics partners, obtaining all necessary information, and providing the company with a clear final cost and delivery timeline.

Key responsibilities

Search for new suppliers and factories in China based on company requirements.

Communicate directly with Chinese suppliers and factories in Mandarin.

Request and compare quotations from different suppliers.

Negotiate prices, MOQ, payment terms, production timelines, specifications, and other commercial conditions.

Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, reliability, response time, and production capability.

Maintain and develop the company's supplier database.

Prepare Purchase Orders and maintain purchasing documentation.

Confirm product specifications, quantities, packaging, dimensions, and production schedules.

Coordinate with the company's logistics partners to obtain shipping costs and delivery timelines.

Calculate and provide the final total cost of the product, including supplier price, China local delivery, international shipping, and other applicable costs.

About you

Fluent Mandarin, both written and spoken.

Ability to communicate confidently and professionally with Chinese factories and suppliers.

Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or working with suppliers in China is highly preferred.

Good analytical and comparison skills.

Able to calculate purchasing costs accurately and work confidently with numbers.

Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.

Familiarity with WeChat, Alibaba, 1688, or other Chinese sourcing platforms is an advantage.

Organized and able to manage several purchase requests and suppliers simultaneously.

Detail-oriented and responsible with deadlines.
