PT PILAR INTI FITTINDO, a forward-thinking engineering company in West Jakarta, is seeking a Purchasing Import Specialist to manage end-to-end import procurement for electrical and electronic components.

You will source international suppliers, negotiate terms, prepare documents, coordinate with freight forwarders, ensure compliance, and collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Finance to optimize costs and schedule imports.

Competenze

• Experience in procurement, purchasing, or import/export operations.
• Knowledge of international trade regulations and import documents.
• Ability to manage supply chains and negotiate with suppliers.
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English is required.

Mansioni

• Source international suppliers for electrical and electronic components and materials.
• Negotiate prices, terms, payment conditions, and delivery schedules.
• Process import documentation (POs, invoices, packing lists, B/Ls/airway bills).
• Coordinate with logistics providers and track shipments from abroad.
• Ensure compliance with import regulations and trade laws.
• Manage import costs including shipping, duties, taxes, and insurance.
• Monitor inventory and forecast import requirements.

About the Role

We are seeking a Purchasing Import Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis at our West Jakarta office. This role is strategically important to our operations, serving as a bridge between our company and international suppliers.

As a Purchasing Import Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the entire import procurement process, ensuring the timely delivery of components and materials essential to our electrical and electronic engineering operations. This position requires strong organisational skills, international trade knowledge, negotiation abilities, and the ability to manage complex logistics and compliance requirements.

What You'll Be Doing

• Sourcing and identifying qualified international suppliers for electrical and electronic components and materials
• Negotiating prices, terms, payment conditions, and delivery schedules with overseas suppliers to secure the best value for the company
• Processing and managing import documentation, including purchase orders, invoices, packing lists, bills of lading/airway bills, and other shipping documents
• Coordinating with logistics providers and freight forwarders to arrange shipments and track deliveries from international suppliers
• Ensuring compliance with import regulations, customs requirements, and international trade laws
• Managing import costs, including shipping, duties, tariffs, taxes, insurance, and other related expenses
• Monitoring inventory levels and forecasting import requirements based on production schedules and business needs
• Liaising with internal departments, including Engineering, Production, Warehouse, Finance, and Sales, to ensure material availability and cost control
• Resolving supply chain issues and managing supplier performance
• Maintaining accurate records of all import transactions, supplier information, and documentation
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with international suppliers and business partners

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or import/export operations, preferably within the engineering or manufacturing sector
• Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and import documentation requirements
• Proficiency in managing supply chain and procurement systems
• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build strong supplier relationships
• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, both spoken and written, with the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with Chinese-speaking suppliers
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal, with strong communication skills
• Attention to detail and strong organisational abilities
• Experience with import logistics and freight forwarding coordination
• Knowledge of electrical and electronic components would be advantageous
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
