Commercial Controller is responsible for overseeing the commercial performance of Samara Lombok’s projects by managing contract administration, cost control, commercial reporting, and project profitability monitoring. This role ensures that project costs, variations, claims, procurement activities, and financial performance are properly tracked, reviewed, and controlled. The position works closely with project, QS, procurement, finance, and management teams to identify commercial risks, support sound decision-making, and protect the financial interests of the business across all project stages.
The role requires a strong foundation in Quantity Surveying, construction cost management, and contract administration, combined with sufficient understanding of construction programmes and physical progress to assess whether project expenditure is aligned with actual delivery.
Monitor project costs, commitments, forecasts, and commercial performance against approved budgets.
Review BOQs, contractor valuations, payment applications, variations, claims, and commercial documentation.
Compare project expenditure against physical progress and construction schedules to identify cost or delivery risks.
Track actual costs, committed costs, cost-to-complete, and forecast final cost.
Support budget preparation, cost forecasting, cash-flow forecasting, and commercial reporting.
Monitor contracts, procurement commitments, variations, claims, and commercial exposure.
Identify cost overruns, contractual risks, scope gaps, and potential disputes, and recommend mitigation actions.
Coordinate with QS, Planning, Procurement, Construction, Finance, and Project Management teams.
Prepare management reports covering costs, progress, forecasts, variations, claims, and key commercial risks.
Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related construction discipline.
Minimum 8 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, cost control, commercial management, or project controls within the construction industry.
Strong understanding of BOQs, measurement, cost control, variations, claims, contractor payments, and contract administration.
Able to understand construction programmes, physical progress, and their impact on project cost.
Strong analytical, negotiation, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong Excel skills; experience with cost-control or project-management systems is an advantage.
