Job summary

Grand Tunnelling (Asia) Pte Ltd in Jakarta invites a Project and Design Engineer (Mechanical and Civil) to join our multidisciplinary team. You will oversee engineering design, project management and field coordination for large construction projects, spanning from initiation to maintenance and troubleshooting.

Requirements include a Mechanical engineering degree, 2–3 years of relevant experience, proficiency in English, CAD skills (SolidWorks/AutoCAD), and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant working experience in industrial or construction machinery.
• Good in English, especially writing and reading.
• Ability to read steel fabrication and equipment drawings, schematics and manuals.
• Experience with 3D modelling software (SolidWorks) and CAD tools.
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Hands-on, self-motivated and able to think critically.
• Mandarin is an advantage; field experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prepare equipment assembly, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting with customers and manufacturers.
• Follow up manufacturing processes in China factory including quantity, quality and timing.
• Prepare technical documents such as QC, method statements, risk assessments and drawings.
• Coordinate and plan shipping with factory and customers.

Job description

Project and Design Engineer (Mechanical and Civil)

This role is multi tasking involving engineering, design and project management from project initiation, manufacturing, inspection, assembly, shipment, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment and materials related to large construction projects.

Key responsibilities

Coordinate and prepare equipment assembly, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting with customers and manufacturers

Follow up manufacturing processes in China factory including quantity, quality and timing, from material preparation, welding, assembly, acceptance, etc until shipment

Prepare technical documents such as QC documents, method statement, risk assessment, drawings, etc.

Coordinate and plan with factory and customer for shipping arrangement

About you

Degree from university in Mechanical engineering or related study

Minimum 2-3 years of relevant working experience in industrial or construction machinery or in factory plants

Good in English, at least in writing and reading

Able to understand steel fabrication drawings, equipment assembly drawings, schematics, troubleshooting instructions, etc.

Must be able to use 3D modelling software e.g. Solidworks, etc and Autocad or equivalent CAD softwares.

Good knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word and MS Powerpoint

Hands on, self-motivated to work and critical thinking

Knowledge of Mandarin is an advantage

Having field experience is an advantage
