Job summary

WIK - ELEKTROGERÄTE Entwicklungs- und Service-GmbH & Co. KG seeks a tooling design and development expert to lead a team of tooling engineers and technicians.

You will drive design, development, and implementation of new tooling and fixtures while coordinating with management, production, and suppliers. The role requires hands-on CAD/3D modelling experience, a diploma or higher in related fields, and fluent English and Mandarin.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in tool & die or mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in tooling roles.
• Hands-on with CAD/3D modelling; knowledge of plastic mold design.
• Knowledge of safety, regulatory compliance, and tooling handling.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement new tooling and fixtures; lead and supervise tooling team.
• Coordinate with management, production, engineering, and suppliers to meet tooling needs.
• Implement and monitor tooling performance metrics and drive continuous improvements.
• Manage budgets and inventory of tooling, materials, and maintenance resources.
• Maintain tooling uptime and lead root-cause analyses for tooling issues; participate in CI teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Your Tasks

• Manage the design, development, and implementation of new tooling and fixtures and lead and supervise a team of tooling engineers, tooling technicians, toolmakers, and others relevant personnel. Provide training and development opportunities.
• Coordinate with management, production, engineering, and suppliers to ensure tooling needs are met. Ensure all tooling meets quality standards, specifications, and safety regulations.
• Implement and monitor tooling performance metrics to drive continuous improvements. Manage budgets and inventory of tooling, materials, and maintenance resources.
• Maintain tooling uptime to minimize impact on customers. Lead root causes analysis and corrective actions for tooling related issues and active role on internal continuous improvement teams. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

Your Profile

• Diploma and above in tool and die industries and mechanical engineering and minimum 3 years' experience in the same position.
• Must be hand-on experiences, familiar with CAD/3D modelling software, deep understanding of plastic mold design and construction.
• Knowledge of workplace safety, regulatory compliance and proper handling of tools and machinery.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin, solid skill for Microsoft office and good attitude, adaptability to company culture, teamwork spirit and influence skills, problem solving skills, able to handle multi-task and seek continuous improvement, active listening, presentation skills.
