Job summary

PT TDK Electronics INDONESIA seeks a Production Engineering Assistant Manager to oversee new product introduction, machine qualification, capacity planning, and mass production readiness. You will lead a team of engineers, manage cross-functional projects, and drive process improvements on the Sensor systems line in Batam.

The role requires >12 years in electronics manufacturing, leadership experience, and strong knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma.

Job description

Production Engineering Assistant Manager

Production Engineering Asst. Manager of Systems products will oversee the introduction of new products, including assessment, qualification, and process and product release. This role involves managing machine acquisition, qualification, and release, as well as developing production floor plans, layouts, capacity, quality requirements, and manpower requirements for mass production. Eventually, the Project Manager will transition into the role of Process Engineering Manager, handling mass production of the qualified material or product.

Technical Leadership

Provide technical leadership and expertise in BT TPS System processes. Guide the engineering team in developing and optimizing these processes to ensure high-quality output and efficiency.

Project Management

Manage projects and guide the engineers in project execution in technical and non-technical aspects of projects. Prepare and update status reports/KPI reports and present to next level management. Attend actively in project meeting s with project team ,internal and external partners of the project.

Collaboration and Communication

Collaborate with other departments, such as QA, logistics, and external vendors, to ensure seamless integration of Systems processes into the overall

Tasks and responsibilities

1. New Product Introduction:

• Coordinate and manage the assessment, qualification, and release of new products.
• Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches.
• Oversee the review and decision-making process for new product concepts

2. Machine Acquisition, Qualification & Capacity:

• Identify and acquire necessary machinery for production.
• Manage the qualification and release of new machines.
• Monitor and optimize machine capacity to meet production demands.
• Plan and implement capacity expansion projects as needed
• Design and implement production floor plans and layouts.
• Optimize production capacity and workflow.
• Develop and enforce quality requirements and standards

4. Product/Process Engineering Management:

• Lead and mentor a team of product/process engineers.
• Develop and implement process improvement strategies.
• Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies and optimize processes.

5. Mass Production Management:

• Manage the transition from product qualification to mass production.
• Ensure continuous improvement in process, cost, quality, and production.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and meet production goals

6. Manpower Planning:

• Recruit, train, and qualify staff for production roles.
• Ensure staff compliance with operational and safety protocols

Safety at Work

• Promote and enforce a safe working environment.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.

Audit Compliance

• Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
• Prepare for and participate in audits, addressing any findings promptly.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records for audit purposes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Lead root cause analysis and problem‑solving activities.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

Automation

• Evaluate and implement automation solutions to enhance process efficiency.
• Collaborate with automation specialists to integrate new technologies.

Authorization

1. Decision‑Making Authority: make critical decisions regarding the PT Sensor/High Pressure Sensor and System, including process improvements, equipment upgrades/modification, and quality control measures.

2. Project Leadership: Authorized to lead and manage projects related to PT Sensor/High Pressure Sensor and System process, ensuring they align with company goals and timelines.

3. Resource Allocation: Authority to allocate resources, including personnel, budget, and materials, to optimize the PT Sensor/High Pressure Sensor and System process and achieve desired outcomes.

4. Vendor Interaction: Authorized to liaise with external vendors and suppliers to procure necessary equipment and materials, ensuring they meet the required specifications and quality standards.

5. Team Management: Empowered to mentor and supervise Sr/Asst/Engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance.

Conditions of employment and interaction

• Project Manager is responsible for executing and controlling PT Sensor/ High Pressure Sensor and System projects by coordinating the actions through interface to all related Head Of Department involved.
• Regular communication to other entities outside the factory such as: Sales/Marketing, Corporate, Customers in relation to support company objectives.

Requirements

Education and Qualification

Degree or Diploma in an Engineering discipline.

Experience

> 12 years of experience in an electronic component manufacturing environment with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Must have experience working in a factory with automotive quality standards.
