Job summary

SkyCrunch is seeking a data-focused role to own the data ingestion interface between aviation pricing data and the software. The position requires turning pricing and service data into clear, machine-readable rules for the product.

You will research pricing from FBOs and fuel suppliers, create internal tools using AI, and document specifications and test cases for team-wide use. On-site in Bandung, West Java, with strong English and data literacy required.

Responsibilities

• Research and gather pricing, fee, and service data from FBOs and fuel suppliers through web data extraction, public sources, and direct email outreach.
• Communicate with FBOs, fuel providers, and pilots to turn fee schedules into rules the software can encode.
• Learn how the aviation fuel business works, e.g. pricing contracts and why costs vary.
• Use AI tools to build small internal tools, clean up data, and prototype ideas with guidance from the team.
• Write clear specifications and test cases that others can build from and verify.
• Run tests periodically and document results properly.
• Support outbound communication with partners and prospects.

About

SkyCrunch (SkyCrunch.com) builds trip-planning and cost-intelligence software for business aviation. When flight crews plans a route, they need to know what fuel and ground handling will cost at each possible stop. This information is scattered across hundreds of fuel suppliers and FBOs (Fixed Base Operators, the companies that handle aircraft on the ground), most of whom still quote by email. We aggregate this information, normalize it, and put it on a map so an operator can compare stops in seconds instead of hours.

We're a small team moving at a fast pace. What we need now is someone to own the layer between the aviation world and the software: getting the pricing data in, understanding what it actually means, and turning that understanding into things we can build.

Responsibilities

Research and gather pricing, fee, and service data from FBOs and fuel suppliers through web data extraction, public sources, and direct email outreach.

Communicate with FBOs, fuel providers, and pilots to turn confusing fee schedules into rules the software can encode.

Learn how the aviation fuel business works, e.g. how contracts are priced, why the same gallon costs different amounts, and what a handling fee actually covers.

Use AI tools to build small internal tools, clean up messy data, and prototype ideas, with technical guidance from the team.

Write clear specifications and test cases that others can build from and verify.

Run tests periodically and document results properly.

Support outbound communication with partners and prospects.

Requirements

Any major welcome - we focus on what you can actually do.

Strong written and spoken English; you'll be communicating with an English-speaking team.

Confidence working with data and structure. You should be comfortable using spreadsheets and have tinkered with Excel or automation tools before.

A habit of asking why; noticing when something (like a fee schedule) contradicts itself and following up until it makes sense.

A basic understanding of UI design principles.

Willingness to work on-site in Bandung, West Java.

Nice to Have

A genuine interest in aviation (flight sim, avgeek, aviation photography, or industry background).

Experience writing documentation, specifications, or test cases for others to follow.

Familiarity with AI tools beyond casual chat use; deliberate prompting, building something real with them.
