Job summary

Little Owl Preschool Daycare in Central Jakarta seeks a visionary Principal to lead our preschool and daycare, overseeing strategy, teaching excellence and child safety. This is a full-time leadership role on-site to shape the educational vision and ensure high standards across the learning community.

You will manage staff, engage with families, ensure regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement in teaching and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• A qualification in Early Childhood Education, Education Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
• Demonstrable knowledge of early childhood development, learning theories and best practice in preschool and daycare settings.
• Strong safeguarding, health and safety protocols and regulatory knowledge.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire staff.
• Fluency in English; Indonesian and local languages valued.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Principal to lead Little Owl Preschool Daycare in Central Jakarta. This is a fulltime position offering strategic leadership and operational oversight of our preschool and daycare facility. As Principal, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational vision, maintaining excellence in teaching and learning, and ensuring the highest standards of child safety, wellbeing and development. This role is essential to the continued success and growth of our institution, requiring you to work on-site to manage day-to-day operations and foster a thriving learning community.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the preschool and daycare, ensuring alignment with the institution's mission and educational philosophy
• Oversee curriculum implementation and ensure teaching practices meet early childhood education standards and best practices
• Manage staff recruitment, training, professional development and performance to build and maintain a high-quality team
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with families through regular communication, meetings and engagement programmes
• Ensure compliance with all relevant early childhood education regulations, safeguarding policies and licensing requirements
• Manage budget planning and financial resources to support operational efficiency and educational quality
• Create and maintain a safe, healthy and inclusive learning environment that promotes child development and wellbeing
• Monitor child progress and learning outcomes, implementing strategies to support individual development needs
• Lead strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance programme quality
• Represent the institution at community events and maintain positive relationships with external stakeholders

What we're looking for

• A qualification in Early Childhood Education, Education Management or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role
• Demonstrable knowledge of early childhood development, learning theories and best practice in preschool and daycare settings
• Strong understanding of child safeguarding, health and safety protocols, and relevant early childhood education regulations
• Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and develop staff
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, families and staff
• Experience in curriculum development and implementation in early childhood settings
• Financial management and budgeting experience in an educational or similar organisation
• Problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Indonesian and other local languages is highly valued
