Job summary

Kinder Shine Preschool seeks a charismatic educational leader to guide a new school in Solo, Central Java. You will shape the culture, lead teaching teams and implement play-based, inquiry-based and project-based learning within an international framework.

Ideal candidates will bring 8+ years in education with primary leadership, strong curriculum and assessment expertise, and excellent English communication. This role is based on-site in Solo.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field is required with a Master’s preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in education with primary school leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of play-based, inquiry-based and/or project-based learning.
• Familiarity with Cambridge Primary or other international curricula.
• Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment, and effective primary teaching and learning.
• Experience in developing, coaching and leading teachers.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to communicate effectively in English.
• Passionate about building a school that combines strong academic foundations with curiosity, creativity and student agency.
• Entrepreneurial and comfortable building a new school and culture from the ground up.
• Willing to be based in Solo, Central Java.
• Preferred: Experience in an international, bilingual, Cambridge, IB, British, or progressive school environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach teaching staff to implement play-based, inquiry-based and project-based learning approaches.
• Build and shape the school culture from the ground up in Solo, Central Java.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with international curricula and assessments.
• Drive curriculum development, assessment practices and teacher development initiatives.
• Represent the school in community and international education networks.
