Job summary

Kulu in Bali is seeking a Lead Product Engineer to own the platform that wraps our AI agents: the customer portal, live meeting experience, onboarding, billing, admin, and reporting. This is a hands-on, player-coach role: you will eventually lead engineers, but first and foremost you ship.

You’ll translate product and commercial priorities into shipped, polished features across frontend, backend, and data models, while collaborating closely with founders to push back when needed and drive fast,

Qualifications

• Excellent full-stack engineering fundamentals: modern TypeScript/React on the frontend, production backend and API experience, comfort owning a data model.
• Strong product judgment — evidence you can take an underspecified request and ship the right thing, not just the requested thing
• A track record of shipping fast in small teams without sacrificing quality; comfort being measured on outcomes, not tickets closed
• Ability to work directly with founders and commercial stakeholders, including pushing back with reasons
• High agency and ownership; experience guiding or mentoring engineers, or clear readiness to lead a small team
• Fluent/Advanced spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate confidently and professionally. Our company language is exclusively English.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end feature delivery — portal features, the meeting frontend, agent configuration and deployment flows, dashboards and reporting, org and seat management, plans and billing. You own the full slice — frontend, backend API, data model.
• Product judgment in the details — prioritize minimal viable versions, handle edge cases, and push back when requests are misaligned with product goals.
• Commercial responsiveness — triage platform work against roadmap, shipping urgent items quickly for live negotiations.
• Platform architecture — maintain clean API contracts with the agent engine, sane data models, and scalable frontend code.
• Quality without ceremony — measure success by shipped features and reduced defects, not process.
• Leading the platform team — oversee a growing team, assign ownership, review work, and guide development.
