Job summary

Siloam Hospitals Group seeks a hospital pharmacist to support outpatient pharmacy services, including receiving prescriptions, compounding and preparing medicines, and ensuring patients' drug needs are met in line with hospital standards.

The role involves monitoring pharmacy staff performance, handling complaints, maintaining data and monthly reports, supervising storage conditions, and providing drug information to other departments, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Pharmacy.
• Minimum 1 year work experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting.
• Strong clinical knowledge in pharmacotherapy, drug interactions, and patient care.
• Expertise in preparation, dispensing, and monitoring of medications.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards and guidelines related to pharmacy practice, including medication safety and controlled substances.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmaceutical services: receiving prescriptions, compounding and preparing medicines, and distributing medicines for outpatient and inpatient units.
• Monitor and ensure service standards of Pharmacist Assistants and Runners in outpatient and inpatient units.
• Handle complaints from patients, doctors, nurses, or other departments to ensure customer satisfaction with outpatient unit services.
• Ensure completeness of data and monthly reports for the outpatient unit (drug stock, reports, data quality).
• Monitor procurement and use of medicines and general equipment; maintain cleanliness and equipment condition.
• Provide drug information and education to staff about new drugs to ensure correct information dissemination.
• Monitor storage conditions (refrigerator, room temperature, humidity) to optimize drug storage.
• Support quality and safety procedures, including data collection, documentation and reporting to meet hospital indicators.
• Provide operational support to the Assistant Pharmacist to ensure continuity of OPD services.
• Coordinate with related departments and units.
• Engage with patients' families/visitors as needed.

Job description

• Supporting pharmaceutical services in terms of receiving prescriptions, compounding and preparing medicines as well as distributing medicines in outpatient and inpatient pharmacy services to ensure that patients' drug needs are met in accordance with the service and quality standards set by the hospital. Monitor and continuously check the service management of Pharmacist Assistants and Runners in the outpatient and inpatient pharmacy units to ensure that the standards and procedures set by the hospital are carried out correctly and consistently.
• Receive and handle complaints from patients, doctors, nurses, or other departments related to pharmacy outpatient unit services to ensure customer satisfaction with pharmacy outpatient unit services
• outpatient services in relation to the implementation of established policies, standards and procedures, including operational obstacles that may be encountered which can be followed up or escalated to interested parties
• Ensuring the completeness of data and monthly reports for the pharmaceutical outpatient unit: Static drug reports and drugs that are almost/already expired, Stock and price reports, Data quality objectives, Narcotic and psychotropic drug stock reports, Other required reports
• Monitor the procurement and use of medicines and general equipment, as well as the condition of cleanliness, procurement, use and maintenance of equipment in the pharmaceutical outpatient unit, so that they can be accountable to superiors
• Carrying out socialization and education to workers in the pharmacy outpatient unit regarding existing new drugs, as well as conducting drug information services for all parties who need it to ensure that all relevant departments receive correct and appropriate information according to their needs.
• Monitor the refrigerator temperature as well as room temperature and humidity to optimize drug storage and management
• Implement and supervise procedures and practices for quality and safety services, including attending training, collecting data, documenting and/or making reports needed to support the achievement of hospital wide indicators and related departmental targets
• Provide operational support to the Assistant Pharmacist of the pharmacy outpatient unit to ensure the continuity and smoothness of pharmacy OPD services
