Job summary

USHA CAFE AND BAKERY in Bali invites a hands-on pastry team member to assist with mise-en-place and production of pastry, bakery, and dessert items according to recipes and standards.

You will help maintain quality, taste, appearance, and consistency while keeping a clean, safe workspace, and collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in pastry/bakery roles in restaurants, cafes, or hotels (internships welcome).
• Understanding of basic baking techniques and dough/batter preparation.
• Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and food safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of ingredients (mise-en-place) and production of pastry, bakery, dessert, and decoration products according to recipes and company standards
• Ensure quality, taste, appearance, and consistency of every product produced
• Operate and maintain pastry kitchen equipment safely and correctly
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and storage spaces, and comply with sanitation and food safety standards (HACCP / Food Safety)
• Assist with management of raw material stock, including checking expiration dates and storage (FIFO/FEFO)
• Collaborate with kitchen team to ensure efficiency and smooth daily operations

About you

• Minimum education: SMK/D3/S1 in Hospitality, Culinary Arts (Culinary/Pastry Art), or related field
• Experience in similar positions (Pastry/Bakery) in restaurants, cafes, bakeries, or hotels (strong internship/apprenticeship experience considered)
• Understanding of basic baking techniques, dough and batter preparation, cream, and basic decoration
• Good knowledge of kitchen sanitation and food safety
• Meticulous, good physical stamina, and able to work under pressure and shift schedules (including weekends/holidays)
• High motivation to learn, creative, and able to work independently and as part of a team
