Job summary

Dynacast Batam is seeking an Operations Manager to lead manufacturing operations, drive safety, quality, and efficiency, and deliver cost improvements. The role reports to the General Manager and requires strong leadership and continuous improvement experience.

You will oversee production, process engineering, maintenance, and the toolroom, coordinating with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to meet business objectives and growth plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial) or related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of manufacturing leadership experience.
• Experience in die casting, plastic injection molding, metal stamping, machining or related operations.
• Experience with audits: RBA, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage overall manufacturing operations at the Batam facility, including production, process engineering, quality, maintenance, and support functions.
• Develop and execute production strategies to meet safety, quality, delivery, productivity and cost targets.
• Monitor KPIs (OEE, productivity, yield, scrap, downtime, on-time delivery) and drive improvements.
• Optimize workforce utilization, machine capacity, material flow, and scheduling.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Program Management, Customer Service, and Toolroom to resolve challenges and drive results.
• Drive 5S and continuous improvement to reduce waste and costs.
• Develop and coach production supervisors, engineers and staff to build a high-performing team.
• Provide regular operational reports and recommendations to senior management.

Position Summary:

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing all manufacturing operations at the Batam facility, ensuring the achievement of business objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost performance. Reporting to the General Manager, this role serves as a key member of the site leadership team and is accountable for driving operational excellence, continuous improvement initiatives, workforce development, and sustainable business growth.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage overall manufacturing operations, including production, process engineering, quality, maintenance, and supporting operational functions.
• Develop and execute production strategies and operational plans to achieve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost objectives.
• Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs), including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), productivity, yield, scrap rates, downtime, on-time delivery, and operational efficiency.
• Optimize workforce utilization, machine capacity, material flow, and production scheduling to maximize throughput and profitability.
• Partner closely with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Program Management, Customer Service, and Toolroom teams to resolve operational challenges and drive business results.
• Drive 5S and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, downtime and manufacturing costs.
• Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors, engineers, and operational staff to build a high-performing, accountable, and engaged workforce.
• Provide regular operational reports and recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of manufacturing leadership experience.
• Experience within environments such as die casting, plastic injection molding, metal stamping, machining, or related industrial manufacturing operations.
• Strong knowledge of production management, manufacturing processes, quality systems, maintenance programs, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong leadership and people development skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
• Experience in RBA, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF audit requirements.
• Good analytical, communication and decision-making skills.
• Must be willing to be based in Batam, Indonesia.
