Job summary

PT SPIL Toll Indonesia seeks an Ocean Freight Supervisor to manage end-to-end ocean freight operations, ensuring on-time performance and high customer satisfaction.

You will lead a team, coordinate with carriers, and uphold safety and quality standards while optimizing service levels and pricing for key customers.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of global ocean freight forwarding operations.
• Experience with carrier relationships and rate negotiations.
• Ability to manage a freight forwarding team and coordinate multiple divisions.
• Knowledge of relevant laws and safety standards.

• Oversee ocean freight operations: shipping, receiving and cargo tracking.
• Manage ocean freight service operations to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Direct department operations to meet service timeframes and customer requirements.
• Forecast and plan future cargo commitments and needs.
• Supervise the ocean freight team and enforce safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with carriers to negotiate contracts and rates.
• Develop relationships with ocean carriers to improve service and pricing.
• Build and maintain ocean freight business with key customers.
• Provide customer service and handle issues related to ocean freight.
• Oversee booking, pickup, logging, invoicing per company standards.

Job description

The Ocean Freight Supervisor oversees the entire ocean freight forwarding operations, including shipping, receiving, and tracking of cargo. This role involves managing all ocean freight service operations to be efficient and effective to get customer satisfaction and directing ocean freight transportation department operation for the purpose of providing services with established time frame and in compliance with related customers' requirements.

Key responsibilities

Oversee the entire ocean freight forwarding operations, including shipping, receiving, and tracking of cargo

Manage all ocean freight service operations to be efficient and effective to get customer satisfaction

Direct ocean freight transportation department operation for the purpose of providing services with established time frame and in compliance with related customers' requirements

Forecast and plan future cargo commitments and requirements

Supervise the ocean freight team and ensure all operations comply with safety and quality standards

Collaborate with freight carriers and shipping companies to negotiate contracts and rates

Develop relationships with ocean carriers to maximize service and purchase competitiveness

Develop and maintain ocean freight business with good relationship with nomination customer

Provide customer service and handle any issues or complaints related to ocean freight

Oversee the Ocean department to ensure that all aspects of Export & Import Cargo from booking, pick-up, logging, customer service and invoicing are performed as per company standards

Requirements

Strong knowledge of global ocean freight forwarding operations

Have good relationship with shipping company, coleader, and customer

Teamwork with all division Sales, Custom Broker, Finance

Experiences in relevant industry: freight forwarding, ocean shipping, export-import

Strong reporting and analytical skills

Maintain knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and procedures in the field of ocean freight transport
