Job summary

Thecorridors is seeking an Ocean Freight Operations Executive to manage end-to-end ocean freight activities from booking to delivery in Jakarta. You will liaise with customers, shipping lines, and internal teams to ensure timely cargo movement and regulatory compliance, while driving cost efficiency and capacity optimization.

The role requires 3–5 years of ocean freight experience, strong communication and leadership, and proficiency with freight forwarding software and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in ocean freight operations within the international freight forwarding industry.
• Understanding of ocean cargo procedures, regulations, and documentation requirements.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in freight forwarding software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality in work.
• Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Adaptability to changing business needs and schedules.
• Knowledge of customs regulations and international trade compliance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee ocean freight shipments from booking to delivery.
• Liaise with customers, shipping lines, consolidators, and stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations.
• Coordinate with procurement and capacity management to secure capacity and optimize costs.
• Monitor shipment status and address issues to minimize disruptions and ensure on-time delivery.
• Prepare and maintain bills of lading, customs paperwork, and shipping manifests.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
• Collaborate with sales, operations, and warehousing to ensure alignment and execution.
• Stay updated on industry developments, regulations, and best practices to improve processes.
