Job summary

hosting.com is seeking a Migration Specialist to plan and execute website and database migrations. You will manage DNS propagation, email routing, and downtime considerations while ensuring customers are informed throughout the process.

You will document edge cases, validate post-migration success, and work with Linux environments, PHP/MySQL, and hosting configurations to deliver reliable migrations. Weekend availability is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in web hosting, technical support, or website migrations.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Experience with PHP, MySQL and how websites connect to databases.

Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out hosting migrations end-to-end, including DNS propagation and migration risks.
• Operate cPanel/WHM and Linux servers via SSH; troubleshoot issues.
• Document migration procedures, edge cases, and lessons learned to improve workflows.
• Validate post-migration success: website, DNS, email delivery, and database connections.
• Communicate timelines, risks, and outcomes clearly to customers and internal teams.
