Valmet is seeking a Workshop Machinist to operate workshop machinery, manufacture and repair components to exacting standards, and support safe, efficient production. You will work with lathe operations, roll grinding, and basic mechanical maintenance, while ensuring quality throughout the manufacturing process.
You should have an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with at least 2 years of relevant experience, be fluent in English, and willing to work in shifts.
Are you passionate about precision manufacturing and machine operations? Join a hands‑on role where your work directly impacts safety, quality, efficiency, and reliable production performance. You will operate and maintain workshop machinery, manufacture and repair components to established standards, and help ensure products are delivered according to production schedules, quality requirements, and operational targets. This is an opportunity to apply your technical expertise, contribute to continuous operational excellence, and support a safe and productive workshop environment.
Success in this role requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational efficiency in every task you perform. You bring practical experience operating workshop machinery, an understanding of technical drawings and measurement equipment, and the ability to maintain machinery in reliable working condition. You are comfortable working under limited supervision, solving non‑routine challenges through analysis, and supporting and guiding less experienced colleagues while consistently delivering work to established standards.
You will join a workshop environment focused on safe, high‑quality, and efficient manufacturing operations. The team is responsible for machine operation, component manufacturing and repair, equipment maintenance, product quality, and adherence to health, safety, environmental, and operational standards. Working closely with the Workshop Supervisor and fellow team members, you will contribute to reliable production performance while helping maintain workshop equipment and processes in optimal condition. The role offers opportunities to expand your technical capabilities across machining, roll grinding, mechanical maintenance, and production operations. You will also have the opportunity to share your knowledge by supporting and assisting less experienced colleagues.
