Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Workshop Machinist to operate workshop machinery, manufacture and repair components to exacting standards, and support safe, efficient production. You will work with lathe operations, roll grinding, and basic mechanical maintenance, while ensuring quality throughout the manufacturing process.

You should have an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with at least 2 years of relevant experience, be fluent in English, and willing to work in shifts.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or Bachelor’s in technical/engineering with ≥2 years of relevant experience.
• Broad knowledge of workshop operations, machinery, production processes, and maintenance.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Basic knowledge of machine maintenance and measurement tools.
• Proficient English communication.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines and production equipment safely according to procedures.
• Manufacture and repair components to specifications and schedules.
• Load materials into production machines to support workflow.
• Remove, sort, and pack raw materials and finished products accurately.
• Maintain a safe workshop environment and proper waste handling.
• Clean machinery, equipment, and work areas to meet safety standards.
• Perform lathe operations, roll grinding, and basic maintenance tasks.
• Monitor machine condition and keep equipment in reliable order.
• Follow Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental, and company requirements while assisting supervisors.
