Job summary

PT Datang DSSP Power Indonesia is seeking a Mandarin Translator to join the Administration & Office Support team on a full-time basis in Musi Banyuasin, South Sumatra. The role focuses on accurate Mandarin-Indonesian-English translation, interpretation, and documentation to support our energy sector operations.

You will translate documents, provide meetings interpretation, maintain glossaries, and liaise with departments to ensure compliant, confidential communication across Mandarin-speaking

Qualifications

• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese with near-native proficiency in writing and speaking.
• Professional translation or interpretation experience in a business or admin setting.
• Strong understanding of Chinese and Indonesian/English cultures and business practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to translate complex technical documents.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and document management.
• Ability to manage multiple translation projects with strong organizational skills.
• Professional demeanour and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Preferred qualifications or certification in translation or interpreting.
• Experience in energy or utilities sectors is advantageous.

Responsibilities

About the role
PT Datang DSSP Power Indonesia/ PT DSSP Power Sumsel is seeking a skilled Mandarin Translator to join our Administration & Office Support team on a full-time basis. This role is based in Musi Banyuasin, South Sumatra and offers an exciting opportunity to facilitate communication between our organisation and Mandarin-speaking stakeholders, partners, and clients. As a Mandarin Translator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and effective cross-cultural communication, supporting the smooth operation of our business activities and contributing to our strategic objectives in the region.

What you'll be doing

Translating written documents from Mandarin Chinese to Indonesian and English, and vice versa, ensuring accuracy and maintaining the original meaning and context

Providing interpretation services during meetings, negotiations, and discussions with Mandarin-speaking clients, partners, and stakeholders

Proofreading and reviewing translated materials to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to company standards

Maintaining comprehensive translation records and documentation for organisational purposes

Assisting with the development and maintenance of translation glossaries and terminology databases relevant to the company's operations

Supporting administrative staff by translating correspondence, reports, contracts, and other business communications

Liaising between different departments to facilitate clear communication with Mandarin-speaking parties

Assisting with cultural consultation to ensure appropriate communication protocols are followed

What we're looking for

Fluency in Mandarin Chinese (both written and spoken) and English or Indonesian, with near-native proficiency required

Professional translation or interpretation experience, preferably in a business or administrative setting

Strong understanding of both Chinese and Indonesian/English cultures and business practices

Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy when translating complex technical or business documents

Proficient computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Outstanding organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple translation projects simultaneously

Strong written and verbal communication skills in all working languages

Professional demeanour with the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive business information

Relevant qualifications or certification in translation or interpreting (preferred)

Experience in the energy or utilities sector would be advantageous
