Responsibilities

About the role
We are seeking a skilled and professional Translator Mandarin to join PT Global Alkes Nusantara in a full-time capacity. Based in North Jakarta, this role will play a crucial part in facilitating effective communication between our international operations and local stakeholders. As a Translator Mandarin, you will be instrumental in bridging language barriers, ensuring accurate and culturally appropriate translations that support our administrative and operational functions. This position is essential to maintaining smooth business communications and supporting our diverse workforce.

Key responsibilities

Translate written documents from Mandarin Chinese to Indonesian and English, including correspondence, reports, contracts, and technical materials

Provide accurate and timely oral interpretation during meetings, conferences, and discussions involving Mandarin-speaking stakeholders

Ensure all translations maintain the original meaning, tone, and intent whilst adapting cultural nuances appropriately

Proofread and review translated documents for accuracy, clarity, and consistency

Liaise with various departments to clarify terminology and context to produce high-quality translations

Maintain comprehensive translation records and documentation as required

Support administrative staff with language-related queries and cultural guidance

Attend meetings and events as required to provide real-time translation support

What we’re looking for

Fluency in Mandarin Chinese (both spoken and written) with native or near-native proficiency

Strong command of Indonesian and English languages with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proven experience as a professional translator or interpreter, preferably in a business or administrative environment

Demonstrated ability to translate accurately across multiple document types and subject matters

Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity to nuances in cross-cultural communication

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering error-free translations

Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality standards

Professional demeanour and discretion when handling confidential business information

Proficiency in using translation tools and office software

Preferably, formal qualification or certification in translation or interpretation
