PT Merdeka Tsingshan Indonesia (MTI) is a joint venture between PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk (80%) and Eternal Tsingshan Group Limited (20%). MTI's factory, located in the Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP), Central Sulawesi, will focus on various extraction processes including pyrite concentrate, acid production, chloridation roasting, and metal extraction. The facility processes high-quality waste ore and pyrite ore, transported from Wetar Island, with an annual nominal capacity of over 1 million tonnes. The products include sulfuric acid, saturated steam, iron ore pellets, copper sponge, lead-zinc hydroxide, doré gold, and silver.
