PT Tiens Indonesia Logistics Trading seeks a bilingual translator and interpreter to bridge Mandarin Chinese and Indonesian in daily communications. You will translate documents, emails, and meeting materials with accuracy and support interpretation in meetings.
You will also handle proofreading, maintain confidentiality, and assist with administrative tasks such as minutes and reports. Fresh graduates with strong Mandarin skills may apply; on-site work in Jakarta is required.
This role involves translating documents, letters, reports, SOPs, meeting materials, and company communications between Mandarin Chinese and Indonesian languages with accuracy. You will serve as an interpreter in meetings, discussions, presentations, and communications between management and employees, and help facilitate communication between Management/Chinese Expatriates and local Indonesian teams. You will translate communications via email, WeChat, VMoment, and other company communication channels, help clarify work‑related context and terminology to prevent misunderstandings, and conduct proofreading to ensure translations align with context, grammar, and company terminology. You will also support administrative and documentation work, including report preparation, meeting minutes, document filing, and data management, while maintaining confidentiality of all company information, documents, and communications.
Key responsibilities
Translate documents, letters, reports, SOPs, meeting materials, and company communications from Mandarin Chinese to Indonesian and vice versa with accuracy
Serve as interpreter in meetings, discussions, presentations, and communications between management and employees
Facilitate communication between Management/Chinese to local Indonesian teams
Translate communications through email, WeChat, VMoment, and other company communication channels
Clarify work‑related context and terminology to prevent misunderstandings
Conduct proofreading and ensure translations align with context, grammar, and company terminology
Support administrative and documentation work, including report preparation, meeting minutes, document filing, and data management
Maintain confidentiality of all company information, documents, and communications
About you
Proficient in both Mandarin Chinese and Indonesian, both spoken and written
Capable of active Mandarin-Indonesian and Indonesian-Mandarin translation
Able to perform simultaneous/consecutive interpretation in meetings
Understand Pinyin, Hanzi/Chinese Characters, and business and administrative terminology
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Able to understand context of conversation, not just word-for-word translation
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Able to create meeting minutes, reports, and simple administrative documents
Detail-oriented, quick to understand information, and able to work with deadlines
Able to coordinate with various levels of positions
Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; D3/S1 preferred
Mandarin Chinese certificate such as HSK is a plus
Experience as Translator Mandarin, Interpreter, Personal Assistant, Admin Mandarin, or similar position is a plus
Fresh graduates with strong Mandarin Chinese capability may be considered
Strong communication skills and confidence in interacting with expatriates and local employees
Willing to work on-site and meet operational needs of the company
Integrity, discipline, responsibility, and ability to maintain company confidentiality
Able to work independently and in a team
