FŪ is a sports recovery and deep tissue massage studio in Berawa, Canggu. Guests come for results: pain relief, mobility and faster recovery, not pampering. Our regulars are gym members, surfers, runners, padel players, athletes and the people who train with them.
We opened in May 2025 and have grown to a team of 15 to 16. The brand is bold, a little rebellious and serious about outcomes. We want the way we treat our team to match the way we treat our guests: direct, fair and built to get better every month.
The role
You will own everything people-related at FŪ, from the first interview to the last day, and make it simple, fair and enforceable. This is not a back-office role. You will spend real time on the studio floor: welcoming guests, supporting the front desk at peak hours, solving problems in the moment and seeing first‑hand how the team is doing. You should be as comfortable greeting a guest at reception as you are building a payroll sheet.
The mindset matters as much as the experience. We want FŪ to be a place people genuinely enjoy coming to work. You bring positive energy and warmth, and the team feels it. You also hold clear standards, address issues early and apply the rules consistently, even when that means a hard conversation. Warm with people, firm on standards.
You will take over a people function the founder has built from scratch: standard bilingual PKWT contracts, a four-level therapist career path, a monthly rota and clear pay and leave rules. Your job is to run it well, keep it compliant and help the team grow with the business.
What you will do
People & Culture
- Be the first point of contact for every team member on pay, leave, contracts and concerns
- Keep team morale and communication strong through regular check‑ins, team briefings and fair, consistent decisions
- Handle grievances, disciplinary matters and exits calmly and in line with contract terms, including full and final settlements
- Keep FŪ's culture recognisable as the team grows: direct, results‑focused and respectful
Front Office & Guest Experience
- Work shifts on the front desk alongside the Guest Experience team, especially at peak times (afternoons and weekends)
- Greet guests, handle bookings and check‑ins in Fresha, and resolve complaints on the spot
- Coach front office staff on service, upselling treatments and Memberships
- Set the tone at reception so every guest and every team member feels the FŪ energy from the moment they walk in
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Run hiring for therapists, front office and support roles: job posts, sourcing, screening, interviews and trial treatments with the trainer
- Prepare offer letters and bilingual PKWT contracts from FŪ's standard templates
- Deliver onboarding so every new hire knows the brand, the treatments, the systems and the rules in their first week
- Build a pipeline of therapist candidates so gaps in the rota are filled quickly
Performance
- Run the four-level therapist framework: clear criteria, regular reviews and fair promotion decisions
- Track performance using booking, rebooking and guest feedback data from Fresha
- Manage absence, including the sick pay schedule and the review trigger of 3 sick events in any 3‑month window
- Lead the annual contract review cycle, ready before 30 April each year
Operations & Compliance
- Own the people side of payroll: attendance, commission, allowances, THR and final pay, checked before every pay run
- Keep BPJS Ketenagakerjaan and BPJS Kesehatan registrations current, and PPh 21 handled correctly
- Maintain complete, organised personnel files and keep policies up to date with Indonesian labour law
- Support the monthly rota with the founder, keeping to the rules on rest days, shift mix and therapist gender balance
Learning & Development
- Work with the Therapist Trainer to plan onboarding, technique training and level progression
- Track training investment and apply the training repayment clause where it is triggered
- Create simple development plans so each therapist knows what it takes to reach the next level
- Bring in practical training for front office on service, sales and memberships
What you bring
Must have
- 3 or more years in a Managerial role and good understanding of HR or People & Culture, including at least 1 year running HR for a team on your own
- Guest-facing experience in hospitality, wellness, fitness or retail, and genuine enjoyment of being with customers
- A naturally positive, upbeat presence that lifts the people around you
- The authority to set and enforce standards: fair, consistent and willing to have difficult conversations early
- Working knowledge of Indonesian labour law: PKWT and PKWTT, BPJS, THR, PPh 21 and termination rules
- Fluent English and Bahasa Indonesia, spoken and written, able to draft bilingual contracts and letters
- Organised and reliable with records, numbers and deadlines
How we work
- Joy at work. We want a studio where people are glad to show up. Good energy is part of the job, and it starts with leadership.
- Standards make it work. A great place to work needs clear expectations, held consistently. Being kind and being firm are not opposites.
- Results over rituals. We judge work by what it achieves for guests and the team, not by how much process surrounds it.
- Fair and clear. The same rules apply to everyone, written down in plain language in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Grow our own. We invest in training and promote from within wherever we can.
What we offer
- Monthly salary based on experience
- THR in line with Indonesian regulations
- Real ownership of a people function in a growing business, working directly with the founder
