Job summary

PT Sanwa Screen Indonesia is seeking a Mold Design and Maintenance Engineer to design, maintain, and optimize injection molds. You will lead PM programs, perform mold trials, troubleshoot defects, and coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure molds meet standards and schedules.

The role requires a D3 or Bachelor's in Mechanical/ Manufacturing/ Mechatronics and 0–2 years in mold making or injection molding. Proficiency in AutoCAD/SolidWorks and GD&T is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma (D3) or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/ Manufacturing/ Mechatronics engineering.
• 0–2 years experience in Mold Making, Mold Maintenance, or Injection Molding (recent graduates with internship may be considered).
• Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD/CAM software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Understanding of mold construction (Core, Cavity, Runner System, Cooling System, Ejection System).
• Ability to read and create manufacturing drawings with GD&T.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Attention to detail and precision.
• Ability to collaborate across Production, QA/QC, PPIC.
• Knowledge of basic machining processes (Milling, Lathe, CNC, EDM, Wire Cut) is a plus.
• Understanding of plastic material characteristics and injection machine parameters is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create 2D and 3D designs for new mold components or modify existing molds (engineering changes).
• Develop and execute Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules for all molds to maximize tool life.
• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections on worn or damaged mold parts and determine repair actions (Corrective Maintenance).
• Oversee Mold Trial processes (T0, T1, etc.) for new or modified molds.
• Analyze and provide technical solutions for product defects caused by molds (flash, short shot, warping, sink mark).
• Coordinate with internal Tooling/Machining teams or external Mold Makers to ensure fabrication meets design standards and timelines.
• Create and update mold documentation (repair history, current drawings, standard injection parameters).
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for mold setup, disassembly, and maintenance.

This role involves designing, maintaining, and optimizing injection molds for manufacturing operations. About you

Minimum Diploma (D3) or Bachelor's degree (S1) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or specialized manufacturing polytechnic

0 to 2 years of experience in Mold Making, Mold Maintenance, or Injection Molding (recent graduates with intensive internship in mold manufacturing may be considered)

Proficient in operating 2D and 3D CAD/CAM software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)

Understanding of mold construction (Core, Cavity, Runner System, Cooling System, Ejection System)

Ability to read and create manufacturing technical drawings with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards

Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities

Attention to detail and precision

Ability to collaborate across departments (Production, QA/QC, PPIC)

Knowledge of basic and precision machining processes (Milling, Lathe, CNC, EDM, Wire Cut) is a plus

Understanding of plastic material characteristics (resin/polymer) and injection machine parameters is a plus
