Candidates must have experience or knowledge in at least one of the following platforms: HPE 3PAR, Dell EMC, or NetApp.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Storage Administration & Operations
- Install, configure, and maintain storage arrays (HPE 3PAR/Primera, Dell EMC: VNX/Unity/PowerStore/VMAX/PowerMax, or NetApp FAS/AFF running ONTAP)
- Provision storage: create volumes/LUNs, pools/aggregates, host mappings, and masking according to application/server requirements
- Manage capacity, including thin provisioning, tiering, storage efficiency (deduplication, compression), and capacity planning
- Perform firmware/microcode/ONTAP upgrades and patching in accordance with change management procedures
2. SAN/NAS Connectivity
- Configure and troubleshoot the SAN fabric (Fibre Channel, iSCSI), including zoning on FC switches (Brocade/Cisco MDS)
- Configure and troubleshoot NAS services (NFS/SMB/CIFS), including export policies, shares, permissions, and Active Directory integration
- Configure multipathing (MPIO, PowerPath, Device Mapper Multipath) on Windows/Linux/VMware servers
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues (HBA, SFP, cables, LIF/ports, link errors, latency)
3. Replication, Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Configure and monitor replication: HPE Remote Copy/Peer Persistence, Dell EMC SRDF/RecoverPoint/MirrorView, or NetApp SnapMirror/SnapVault/MetroCluster
- Manage snapshots and application-consistent backups (e.g., NetApp SnapCenter)
- Support backup & restore operations (Veeam, Commvault, Dell EMC Data Domain/Avamar/NetWorker)
- Participate in DR drills and ensure RPO/RTO targets are met
4. Monitoring & Troubleshooting
- Monitor performance (IOPS, throughput, latency, utilization) and hardware health (disks, controllers/nodes, power, cache)
- Handle L2 incidents: disk failures, degraded RAID, controller/node failover, performance degradation
- Prepare incident reports (RCA) and elevate to vendor/L3 when necessary, including opening cases with vendor support
- Prepare incident reports (RCA) and elevate to vendor/L3 when necessary, including opening cases with vendor support

- Understanding of FC, iSCSI, as well as NFS/SMB protocols
- Able to independently perform Level 2 troubleshooting, including reading logs and performance metrics
- Basic understanding of server operating systems (Linux/Windows) and virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) related to storage integration
