This hands-on role requires training new staff, coordinating with front-of-house, controlling waste and costs, and maintaining safety, cleanliness and organisation under pressure.

The ideal candidate will stay organised, dependable, and ready to take responsibility for the kitchen's performance.

Qualifications

• Solid cooking experience with previous kitchen team leadership.
• Organised and reliable.
• Able to keep a busy service under control.
• Comfortable giving direction and taking responsibility.
• Willing to work alongside the team.

Responsibilities

• Run the kitchen day to day, from prep through to closing.
• Keep food quality, presentation, and portion sizes consistent.
• Organise prep lists, assign stations, and prepare for each service.
• Lead service, keep orders moving, and work closely with front-of-house staff.
• Train new staff and help the team improve.
• Set clear expectations and deal with problems as they come up.
• Manage stock, check deliveries, and order supplies.
• Keep waste down and food costs under control.
• Make sure food is stored, labelled, and handled correctly, including allergens and dietary requests.
• Keep the kitchen clean and organised, and report equipment problems.
