Devjobsindo ORG seeks a Junior Cooperative Advisor to strengthen tomato value-chain cooperatives through project management, advisory support, and capacity-building. The role involves spanning from project identification to closure, with guidance from senior staff and a focus on governance, finance, and MSMEs.

Based in Bandung, the position requires 2+ years in international development, strong English communication, MS Office proficiency, and willingness to travel extensively for field

Qualifications

• Good oral and written communication skills are mandatory (English and other EU languages where relevant)
• Good computer skills in MS Office
• Willing to travel (25-75% of your time will be in the field)
• Based in Bandung
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience at international organisations; experience supporting agricultural development projects/supply chain
• Understanding of project monitoring and evaluation is preferable
• Understanding of MSMEs is preferable

Responsibilities

• Support project cycle activities from identification, acquisition, implementation to closure
• Provide advisory work to cooperatives under project frameworks
• Assist in design, setup, and closing and final reporting of project tasks

Job description

This project is “Strengthening farmers’ position in the tomato value chain through professionalising cooperatives”. This project will focus onstrengthening four farmer cooperatives in the horticulture sector by helping them expand their business operations. This will be done in collaboration with Yayasan Bina Tani Sejahtera (YBTS) to assist in the training on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).The impact brough about through this program will be strengthening farmers’ position in the horticulture value chain through professional cooperatives.

The expected outcomes for this program include:

• Good cooperative governance and finance systems in place
• Aggregator business with members in place
• Increased youth and female inclusion in the cooperative

The Junior Cooperative Advisor has a supportive role in several areas related to the full project cycle: from project identification, acquisition, implementation and closure. This includes advisory work to cooperatives within project frameworks under guidance of the project lead.

Related to project management duties, he/she performs tasks in various project sub-areas from design and set-up till closing and final reporting, to support experienced colleagues in the project. The project-related assignments may differ in subject matter, content and assigned tools.

Job Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness/ Finance/ Accounting/ Supply Chain or relevant fields
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience at international organisation(s); experience supporting agricultural development projects/ agricultural supply chain
• Understanding and experience in project monitoring and evaluation is preferable
• Understanding of and experience in helping Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is preferable
