Job summary

WIK Group in Indonesia is seeking an Industrial Engineer to join our team. You will conduct time studies, set standard times, balance lines, and analyze capacity and UPH targets on the production floor.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in industrial engineering with 1–2 years of experience, strong knowledge of lean methodologies, and proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office. You will document processes and support ramp-up activities under senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and 1–2 years’ experience in the same position.
• Basic knowledge of Industrial Engineering methods: time study, line balancing, capacity planning, lean manufacturing and CI tools.
• Familiarity with PFMEA and process flow documentation; ISO knowledge is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office and 2D drawing software; able to read process docs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct time studies, work measurement and SMV updates on the production floor.
• Perform line balancing, capacity and manpower calculations and propose operator allocation.
• Collect production, process, quality and manpower data for analyses.
• Propose improvements to methods, layout and workstation design.
• Prepare and update process documents; ensure proper approvals.
• Report unsafe conditions or deviations to supervision.
• Support NPI, ramp-up activities, and PCR/ECR implementation on the line.

Your Tasks

• Conduct time studies, work measurement and process observation on the production floor within the assigned scope of work verify and update cycle time, standard time and Standard Minute Value (SMV), and submit the results to the senior engineer for review and approval.
• Perform line balancing, capacity and manpower calculations for existing and new production lines and propose operator allocation and workload distribution to achieve the required output and UPH target.
• Request and collect production, process, quality and manpower data from the related departments for Industrial Engineering analysis purposes.
• Propose improvements to process methods, line balancing, manpower allocation, factory layout and workstation design to the Senior Engineer / Industrial Engineering management for review and approval.
• Prepare and update Industrial Engineering documents (standard time, PFC, Work Instruction, layout drawings and performance reports); the official issue and distribution of these documents require the approval of the superior.
• Report immediately to the superior and the department responsible for any unsafe condition or deviation from the approved process standard found on the line. This position has no direct subordinates and no authority to approve documents, investment or manpower changes.
• Support the preparation and revision of process documents, analysis and improvement of factory layout, problem solving and root cause analysis of process, New Product Introduction (NPI) and production ramp-up activities, implementation and follow-up of approved process and engineering changes (PCR/ECR) on the line.

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and minimum 1 - 2 years’ experience in the same position.
• Basic knowledge of Industrial Engineering methods: time study, work measurement, standard time, line balancing and capacity planning, lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools (5S, Kaizen, 7 wastes, value stream mapping, PDCA). Quality and problem-solving tools (5 Why, Ishikawa, Pareto, basic statistics) and of PFMEA and process flow documentation, understanding of manufacturing KPIs (output, UPH, efficiency, OEE, downtime, FTQ) and of assembly and manufacturing process, understanding of occupational health, safety and environment (HSE) and workplace ergonomics; familiarity with ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 is an advantage.
• Able to read and prepare process documents such as Process Flow Chart, Work Instruction, layout drawing and jig / tooling list, use 2D drawing software (AutoCAD or equivalent) for factory layout and workstation drawings. Computer literate, with good command of Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot table, data analysis), Word and PowerPoint.
• Fluent in English, skill for Microsoft office. Ability to perform under high pressure, result oriented and good trouble shooting capability. Good attitude, adaptability to company culture, teamwork spirit and influence skills, problem solving skills, able to handle multi-task and seek continuous improvement, active listening, presentation skills.
