Job summary

MatchaTalent in Jakarta, Indonesia, seeks a hands-on Head of HR to lead the group’s HR strategy across manufacturing and commercial units. You will drive talent acquisition, performance management, compensation, industrial relations, and HR governance, partnering with the Founder and senior management.

You will build scalable HR systems from scratch, oversee expatriate governance, ensure BPJS compliance, and implement workforce planning across multiple sites in Indonesia.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7-10+ years of comprehensive HR experience
• 3-5 years in Head of HR/HR Manager roles
• Hands-on HR across multiple pillars (TA, compensation & benefits, IR, PM, HR policy, administration)
• Experience in Consumer Electronics, Trading & Distribution, FMCG, Retail, or multi-site manufacturing (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of Indonesian labor regulations, BPJS compliance, and industrial relations
• Fluent business English; Mandarin proficiency is a distinct advantage

Responsibilities

• Build, formalize, and continuously improve group-wide HR SOPs, handbooks, regulations, and policies
• Establish workforce planning, headcount budgeting, and organizational structures across sites
• Develop and implement group-wide Performance Management Systems (KPIs, OKRs, cycles)
• Partner with leaders to set manpower requirements and improve recruitment effectiveness
• Oversee Chinese expatriate governance, documentation, work authorization, and immigration compliance
• Lead end-to-end recruitment across functions
• Serve as HR liaison between Group Owner, expatriate managers, and local teams
• Strengthen cross-cultural collaboration between local and expatriate stakeholders
• Ensure Indonesian labor regulations and BPJS compliance across offices, warehouse, and factory
• Lead Compensation & Benefits governance, payroll oversight, benchmarking, and welfare programs
• Manage employee relations, grievances, disciplinary actions, and labor disputes
• Develop consistent HR policies and practices across group entities
• Establish HR reporting and analytics for decision-making
• Strengthen HR controls and documentation for growth
