Job summary

J-PAL Southeast Asia in Jakarta seeks a Finance and Operations Associate (Grants) to streamline grant processes, manage donor requirements, and support finance operations. The role interfaces with Research, Policy, Communications, and the MIT-based global team to ensure compliant grant management.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree, up to two years of experience, and strong analytical and communication skills, with familiarity in Salesforce and AI-assisted data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field (accounting/finance, public admin, international development, law or comms also relevant).
• Up to two years of working experience.
• Experience in grants management and donor relations is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Update funding opportunity database and circulate relevant opportunities.
• Assist proposal development, lead internal coordination, and budget reviews.
• Lead contracting with the donor and liaise with project team.
• Coordinate due diligence for donors and subcontractors.
• Manage donor communications on invoices and payments.
