Job summary

IXM, a leading global commodity trading company, is seeking a Traffic Operator in Jakarta to oversee the physical movement of commodities across the supply chain. You will ensure timely, cost-effective execution of contracts and coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders.

This role requires deep experience in commodity logistics, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment; fluency in English and Indonesian is required, with travel possible as business

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in logistics or related field.
• 5-8 years of experience in traffic/logistics in metals/commodities.
• Fluency in English and Indonesian; other languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end execution of commodity contracts (EXW, FCA, FOB, CIF, CIP, DAP, DDP) for sea, land, and/or rail.
• Coordinate with suppliers, customers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, inspection and insurance providers.
• Monitor shipment schedules, bookings and delivery timelines to ensure contractual compliance.
• Prepare and process shipping documents (Bill of Lading, invoices, origin certificates, packing lists) for origin and destination.
• Track stock in storage, warehouses and transit aligning with inventory systems.
• Pricing and hedging of positions per contracts, incoterms and market exposure.
• Process bank documents (HCs, releases) under borrowing base/LC/CAD terms.
• Resolve claims, demurrages, delays and disputes with legal and commercial teams.
• Coordinate with traders, finance and risk for smooth deal execution and escalation if needed.
• Keep PnL updated reflecting operational changes.
• Monitor costs and freight rates to optimize logistics profitability.
• Ensure compliance with trade regulations, sanctions and customs.
• Train and support junior operators and drive process improvements.
