Biofront Commodities is seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Trading Operations Executive to join our Jakarta, Indonesia team
About the Company
Biofront Commodities is one of the largest suppliers and traders of waste-based feedstocks for the production of advanced biofuels, these include Used Cooking Oil (UCO), Tyre Pyrolysis Oil (TPO) and Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME). Products are supplied to bio-refineries globally for the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and Renewable Diesel (RD).
Today we have operations across 6 countries where we collect, bulk and deliver these materials to oil majors. Our global network now encompasses +250 staff and we have traded over $500m of bio-products to date.
About the Role
This role will support the end-to-end execution of physical commodity trades, working closely with traders, suppliers, customers, shipping agents, terminals, inspectors, finance teams and other counterparties.
Responsibilities
- Manage the operational execution of physical commodity trades from contract confirmation through to final settlement
- Coordinate vessel, bulk, flexitank, isotank, road tanker and container shipments, where applicable
- Monitor loading and delivery schedules, nominations, laycans, documentation deadlines and contractual obligations
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, terminals, surveyors, shipping agents, freight providers and internal stakeholders
- Prepare, review and manage shipping and trade documents, including bills of lading, certificates of origin, sustainability certificates, inspection reports, invoices and customs documentation
- Track shipment progress and proactively resolve delays, documentation discrepancies and operational issues
- Calculate and monitor quantities, pricing adjustments, demurrage, detention, laytime and other operational costs
- Coordinate closely with finance on invoicing, payments, letters of credit, trade finance documents and settlement reconciliations
- Maintain accurate trade records and provide regular updates to traders and management
- Support compliance with contractual, regulatory, customs and sustainability requirements
- Assist with operational reporting, process improvements and ad hoc trading support
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in physical commodity trading operations, shipping, logistics or supply chain
- Experience in oils, biofuels, renewable feedstocks, petroleum products, chemicals, agricultural commodities or related markets is preferred
- Strong understanding of international trade documentation and Incoterms
- Familiarity with bulk vessel, tank, flexitank, isotank or containerised shipment operations
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously
- Confident communicating with international counterparties and service providers
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and standard office systems
- Able to work independently and perform effectively in a fast-paced trading environment
- Availability to commence at short notice would be advantageous
Required Skills
