Job summary

PT. Surya Teknologi Batam is seeking a General Manager, Operations to lead our Batam EMS plant. You will oversee safety, productivity, quality, and delivery performance while driving lean initiatives and continuous improvement across manufacturing, engineering, and support functions.

The role requires strategic leadership, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to develop local leadership and engineering capabilities for world-class operations in Southeast Asia.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in EMS, electronics manufacturing, or related manufacturing environment.
• At least 8 to 10 years in senior manufacturing leadership or site leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, quality systems, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement.
• Experience managing multi-functional teams and developing local leadership and engineering capabilities.
• Prior experience in Indonesia, Batam, or Southeast Asia manufacturing operations will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall Batam operation with accountability for safety, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, profitability, and business growth.
• Own site P&L, budgeting, forecasting, CAPEX planning, cost control, cash flow, inventory management, and profitability improvement initiative.
• Ensure production execution meets customer delivery schedules, quality requirements, productivity targets, and operational KPIs.
• Drive on-time delivery performance, resolve operational escalations, and strengthen customer confidence and satisfaction.
• Promote a strong quality culture with focus on zero major customer complaints, low defects, and continual quality improvement.
• Champion Lean Manufacturing, process optimization, waste reduction, and productivity improvement initiatives.
• Establish and sustain manufacturing standards, systems, and practices that support a world-class operational setup.
• Build strong engineering capabilities across NPI, manufacturing, test, automation, and process engineering while driving Lean Manufacturing and productivity improvements.
• Manage manpower, equipment, capacity, operating budgets, cost control, and productivity to achieve business objectives.
• Develop leadership succession, build a high-performance culture, ensure governance and compliance, and support business expansion and strategic initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, statutory regulations, health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Support customer audits, management reviews, expansion plans, and strategic initiatives to improve competitiveness and scalability.

We are a reputable Electronics Manufacturing Services Company, Located at Batam Island, currently looking for suitable candidates for General Manager, Operations.

The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and performance of the Batam manufacturing plant.
