PT Batam Cyclect in Batam is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead daily operational activities and project execution on-site. You will oversee manpower deployment, monitor costs and ensure safety, quality and timely completion across multiple projects.
The role requires strong leadership, hands-on problem-solving and the ability to coordinate between offices, workshops and fields. Based in Batam, the candidate should align with ISO quality standards and customer requirements.

We are seeking an experienced and hands‑on Operations Manager to lead and manage our daily operational activities, manpower deployment and project execution.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed safely, on schedule, within approved budget and manpower allocation, and according to customer and quality requirements.
Plan, coordinate and oversee daily operational activities across multiple projects and work sites.
Work closely with Project Managers, Supervisors, Foremen and Engineering teams to ensure effective project execution.
Review project scope, schedule, manpower and resource requirements before commencement of work.
Monitor project progress against the agreed schedule and immediately address delays or operational issues.
Ensure proper coordination between office, workshop and site operations.
Conduct regular site visits and operational meetings.
Plan and allocate manpower according to project requirements and workload.
Monitor manpower utilization, productivity and overtime* by project and department.
Ensure manpower is efficiently deployed and avoid unnecessary overtime or excess manpower.
Review manpower requirements with Project Managers before approving additional manpower or overtime.
Identify manpower shortages, excess capacity and productivity issues.
Coordinate manpower transfers between projects where appropriate to optimize utilization.
Assist Management with manpower forecasting based on confirmed and upcoming projects.
Monitor actual project resources against approved budgets and costing.
Work with Project Managers to control labour hours, overtime, materials, equipment and subcontractor costs*.
Identify project cost overruns at an early stage and implement corrective action.
Ensure additional or variation work is properly identified and communicated before execution wherever possible.
Support Management in reviewing project profitability and operational performance.
Ensure all work is carried out according to company procedures, customer requirements and applicable safety standards.
Ensure Supervisors and Foremen maintain proper site and project documentation.
Ensure completed works are inspected and properly documented before customer sign-off.
Ensure Work Done Reports / Service Reports* are completed and signed by customers promptly after completion of work.
Coordinate with Project and Commercial teams to ensure completed-job documentation is submitted promptly for invoicing.
Support implementation and compliance with company ISO 9001 procedures and operational SOPs*.
nvestigate operational problems, quality issues, rework and customer complaints and implement corrective actions.
Ensure tools, equipment and company assets are properly allocated, maintained and controlled.
Coordinate equipment requirements between departments and project sites.
Ensure materials and equipment required for projects are identified and requested in advance to prevent project delays.
Monitor usage and prevent unnecessary loss, damage or wastage of company resources.
Conduct regular operational meetings with Project Managers and Supervisors.
Prepare and submit operational reports covering:
Escalate significant project delays, cost overruns, manpower issues and customer concerns to Management.
Develop and improve operational procedures to increase productivity, accountability and cost efficiency.
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related discipline*.
Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience*, preferably with supervisory or operations management responsibility.
Strong preference for candidates with experience in shipyard, ship repair, marine engineering, HVAC, mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering services*.
Good understanding of project execution, manpower planning and resource allocation.
Strong knowledge of manpower productivity, overtime and project cost control*.
Able to manage multiple projects and work sites simultaneously.
Strong leadership and problem‑solving skills.
Able to lead Supervisors, Foremen, Technicians and Helpers effectively.
Strong coordination and communication skills when dealing with Project Managers, customers, shipyards and internal departments.
Good understanding of workplace safety and quality requirements.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 / Quality Management Systems* will be an advantage.
Able to prepare operational reports using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Good command of Bahasa Indonesia*; ability to communicate in English will be an advantage.
Based in Batam or willing to work in Batam.
We are looking for a hands‑on Operations Manager who is comfortable being on site, rather than someone focused mainly on office administration.
The candidate should be able to challenge inefficient manpower deployment, control excessive overtime, identify project delays and cost overruns, and ensure Project Managers and operational teams are accountable for project execution.
A key expectation of this position is to improve the company's operational efficiency, manpower productivity, project cost control and timely completion of documentation for invoicing.
