Job summary

Sephora is seeking a General Ledger Accountant in Jakarta Timur to oversee core GL functions, ensuring IFRS compliance and timely reporting. The role reports to the Finance Controlling Manager for Shared Services and requires ownership of accounting areas.

The candidate should have 1–3 years of accounting experience, fluency in English, and strong Excel skills, with SAP experience preferred. Join Sephora SEA’s expanding finance team and contribute to accurate financial operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA/CA preferred.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience, ideally gained in the Big 4.
• Fluent in English; experience in an English-language environment.
• Proficient in Excel; experience with SAP or similar ERP.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for the general ledger, including fixed assets, inventory, and accruals.
• Ensure all transactions are recorded in accordance with IFRS.
• Complete monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for management with deadlines.
• Prepare audit schedules and assist with Audit inquiries.
• Prepare statutory compliance submissions, including audit, tax and secretarial.
• Maintain compliance with Group Internal Control Policies.
• Maintain controls for fixed asset listing and vendor listing.

General Ledger Accountant

As a General Ledger Accountant within our team, you will report to the Finance Controlling Manager for Shared Services and will play a key role in ensuring the effectiveness of the ongoing financial operations, and will be expected to take complete ownership for your areas of focus.

We would love to hear from you if are/have…

• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA/CA is preferred
• 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably gained in the Big 4
• Fluent in English, experience working or studying in an English language environment is sufficient
• An Excel champion, with some experience with a large ERP system such as SAP previously
• Highly analytical with great problem-solving skills
• Good communicator and able to build effective relationships with peers and internal customers
