The Finance, Accounting & Tax Manager role oversees the company’s accounting, taxation, financial reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, audit, and cash flow management activities. Working onsite and reporting to the director, the position leads a team of 7 employees while ensuring compliance with Indonesian Accounting Standards, International Financial Reporting Standards, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable
- Set objectives for the accounts receivable team that align with the accounting department’s goals
- Ensure high-quality invoicing and collection procedures that comply with applicable laws
- Resolve issues related to dealers
- Check and review credit limits in accordance with established procedures
- Discuss accounts receivable issues and obtain confirmation from the Sales Division and other relevant divisions
- Create and update policies and procedures
- Review and provide recommendations regarding credit limit calculations and changes
- Coordinate with relevant divisions on bad debt resolution and countermeasures
Accounts Payable
- Approve invoices and ensure that all required supporting documents, including value-added tax receipts and withholding tax amounts, are complete
- Prepare and present analytical reports
Audit, Reporting & General Accounting
- Set objectives and action plans for the accounting team that align with management goals
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc forecasting reports
- Ensure high-quality accounting procedures that comply with applicable laws
- Ensure all team members follow relevant accounting principles
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities
- Manage balance sheets and profit and loss statements
- Audit financial transactions and documents
- Comply with financial policies and regulations and update internal practices in response to regulatory changes
- Prepare monthly financial reports
- Check and review trial balances to ensure all entries are recorded appropriately
- Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
- Coordinate audits of financial transactions and documents
- Prepare monthly financial reporting and analysis
- Prepare the annual corporate income tax report
- Prepare transfer pricing data and information
- Prepare forecasts and analyses for balance sheets and profit and loss statements
- Follow up on internal controls and related countermeasures
- Liaise with financial auditors
- Confirm consolidation package reports submitted to the relevant overseas entity, including the supporting analysis
- Conduct training for the accounting team and all division heads on Indonesian Accounting Standards 71, 72, and 73, including the impact of the Omnibus Law on the company
Tax & Related Matters
- Identify solutions to complex tax issues and errors arising from incorrect tax filings
- Ensure internal divisions understand relevant tax regulations
- Advise management on the impact of tax liabilities, corporate strategies, and new tax laws
- Coordinate outsourced tax preparation activities
- Accurately prepare quarterly and annual tax reports
- Liaise with internal and external parties, including tax consultants, actuaries, and government tax authorities
- Ensure the accuracy of reports submitted to the Financial Services Authority and Bank Indonesia, as well as other required reports
Cash Flow Management
- Calculate and forecast collections and expenditures to maintain adequate company cash flow
- Maintain banking relationships to identify opportunities for cash flow improvement and remain informed about market regulations and changes
Leadership & Financial Management
- Oversee forecasting, budgeting, cost control, and financial planning activities
- Lead, manage, and coach a team of 7 employees
- Provide financial and accounting reports directly to the director
- Support the development and implementation of standard operating procedures
- Apply strong managerial, project management, and organisational capabilities across the finance, accounting, and tax functions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Business Management, or a related field
- At least 10 years of experience as a finance and accounting manager
- Brevet tax certification
- Accounting certification such as Chartered Accountant or Certified Management Accountant is desirable
- Experience in a Japanese business environment
- Demonstrated experience using accounting software
- Strong managerial capabilities
- Excellent accounting background with a thorough understanding of Indonesian Accounting Standards
- Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards
- Excellent knowledge of forecasting, budgeting, and cost control
- Knowledge of standard operating procedures
- Thorough knowledge of accounting processes and concepts
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Good spoken and written English and Bahasa Indonesia communication skills
- Strong leadership, project management, coaching, and organisational skills
- Detail-oriented approach with strong analytical thinking
