PT BONJOUR BALI STORE in Bali is seeking an experienced Fashion Designer to join our creative and product development team. You will translate the brand’s direction into strong, coherent garments across swimwear, resortwear, and ready-to-wear.
Collaborate closely with the Creative Director to develop silhouettes, technical flats, fittings and collection boards, ensuring brand identity and commercial relevance throughout the process.
Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Fashion Designer to join our creative and product development team. Working closely with the Creative Director, the Fashion Designer will be responsible for translating the brand’s creative direction, inspirations and collection concepts into strong, coherent and commercially relevant products. The objective of this role is to take ownership of the design development and product variation process, allowing the Creative Director to focus on the overall creative vision, brand image and collection direction rather than the day-to-day development of individual styles.
Translate the Creative Director’s inspirations, moodboards, references and creative direction into concrete garment designs.
Develop new styles and product variations based on existing concepts, silhouettes and collection themes.
Propose relevant design alternatives while maintaining consistency with the brand identity.
Develop complete silhouettes across swimwear, ready-to-wear and resortwear categories.
Explore variations in shapes, lengths, volumes, necklines, sleeves, construction details and finishing.
Ensure a strong balance between creativity, wearability, brand identity and commercial relevance.
Produce clear and accurate fashion sketches to communicate design ideas.
Be able to represent garments, proportions, volumes, draping and construction details accurately.
Develop several design options from an initial creative reference or inspiration.
Visually communicate ideas clearly to the Creative Director, pattern makers and product development team.
Create professional technical flat drawings in Adobe Illustrator.
Prepare front and back views of garments with accurate construction details.
Translate creative sketches into clear technical drawings suitable for product development and pattern making.
Update drawings throughout fittings and development when modifications are required.
Work closely with pattern makers, sample makers and the production team throughout the development process.
Participate in fittings and help translate fitting feedback into design adjustments.
Follow styles from initial concept through sampling and final approval.
Ensure design intentions are correctly interpreted during development.
Support the preparation of collection plans and development boards.
Maintain organized design files, technical drawings and product development information.
Degree or professional education in Fashion Design / Fashion Styling / Apparel Design.
Several years of professional experience as a Fashion Designer, preferably within womenswear, swimwear, resortwear or contemporary fashion.
Strong creative sensitivity and understanding of fashion trends, proportions and silhouettes.
Excellent hand-drawing and fashion illustration skills.
Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, particularly for technical garment drawings.
Good knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, fit and product development.
Ability to take an initial creative direction and independently develop a complete range of product proposals.
Comfortable working within an established brand identity rather than designing independently from the brand direction.
Strong attention to detail.
Organized and able to manage several styles simultaneously.
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate closely with pattern makers and production teams.
We are specifically looking for someone who can act as the design extension of the Creative Director.
The Creative Director will define the overall vision, inspiration, collection direction, key silhouettes and aesthetic language. The Fashion Designer will then translate this direction into:
Product proposals,
Style variations,
New silhouettes,
Technical flat drawings,
This role requires someone who is not only creative, but also technically strong and capable of turning an idea or inspiration into a realistic and well-developed garment.
