Job summary

Gesit Natural Resources in Indonesia seeks a seasoned External Relations professional to lead engagement with government authorities, communities, and stakeholders in support of refinery operations.

The role requires extensive experience in External Relations, Government Affairs, or Lobbying, with mining industry exposure. Travel to sites and communities is expected to be frequent, up to 40% of the time.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in External Relations, Government Affairs, or Lobbying.
• Experience in mining, smelter, refinery operations sector is preferred.
• Willingness to travel frequently (up to 40%) to operational sites and surrounding communities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and strengthen communication and coordination with external relations teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment with company strategies through regular coordination meetings.
• Develop and implement work plans in line with company strategies, policies, and systems to achieve External Relations targets and support mining refinery operations.
• Conduct stakeholder mapping, analysis, and monitoring of social and community conditions, potential risks, social dynamics, and government regulations affecting refinery operations and nearby communities.
• Organize and participate in meetings, conferences, and engagement activities with government authorities, local communities, community leaders, and other stakeholders to build strategic relationships for refinery operations and sustainability.
• Support development and implementation of community relations and CSR initiatives, ensuring External Relations performance aligns with refinery objectives and sustainability commitments.

Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences / Law / Communications / Public Relations / Political Science or related field

Job description

• Minimum Bachelor's degree (S1) in Social Sciences, Law, Communication, Public Relations, Political Science, or another related field.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in External Relations, Government Affairs, or Lobbying, with at least 3 years in the mining, smelter, and refinery operations sector. Proven track record in CSR, land acquisition, or stakeholder engagement within an industrial or mining context.
• Willingness to travel frequently to operational sites and surrounding communities (up to 40%). Experience in mining, smelter, refinery, or other industrial organizations is highly desirable.

• Organize and participate in meetings, conferences, and engagement activities with government authorities, local communities, community leaders, and other relevant stakeholders. Build strategic relationships to support refinery operations, address stakeholder concerns, and promote sustainable practices.
• Support the development and implementation of community relations and CSR initiatives, as well as the continuous improvement of External Relations performance across business units, ensuring alignment with refinery operational objectives and the company's sustainability commitments.
