PT Lbm Energi Baru seeks a Government Relations Specialist to manage external affairs with local and regional authorities in Kendal, Central Java. You will develop and maintain relationships, oversee licensing, permits, and regulatory matters, and prepare monthly reports on stakeholder engagement and policy developments.
The role requires a Bachelor’s in PR/Communications or related field, at least 3 years in government/public relations, and strong negotiation and documentation skills;
Supervise and guide team members in managing external relations information and stakeholder records to improve information management and ensure effective follow-up and closure of external liaison activities.
Assist the superior in developing, expanding, engaging with, and maintaining relationships with local government authorities and relevant stakeholders.
Liaise and coordinate with provincial and regency-level government departments, as well as the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Management Committee, to maintain smooth and effective communication channels.
Participate in and support business counterpart departments in engaging and maintaining relationships with grassroots/local government departments.
Coordinate with relevant government institutions regarding company activities, business operations, licensing, permits, and other regulatory matters.
Monitor the progress of licenses and permits and coordinate with relevant internal and external parties to ensure timely follow-up.
Maintain accurate records and databases of government contacts, stakeholder information, meetings, communications, and follow-up actions.
Monitor local government policies, regulations, and developments that may impact the company’s operations.
Identify and monitor potential community and external stakeholder risks and coordinate appropriate follow-up with relevant departments.
Support government relations activities, including meetings, visits, official events, and stakeholder engagement programs.
Assist in handling external issues and maintaining positive relationships between the company, government authorities, and local communities.
Prepare monthly reports covering government-enterprise engagement, relationship coordination, licensing and permit progress, community risks, and relevant policy developments.
Ensure all external liaison activities are properly documented and followed through to completion.
Perform other government relations and external affairs duties assigned by management.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Government Relations, Public Administration, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Government Relations, Public Relations, External Relations, Corporate Affairs, or a related field; supervisory experience is preferred.
Experience in manufacturing, industrial, energy, battery, or other large-scale industrial projects is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of government structures and local government relations.
Experience communicating and coordinating with government institutions at provincial and regency/local levels.
Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Good understanding of licensing, permits, regulatory requirements, and government procedures.
Strong reporting, documentation, and information management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Able to handle sensitive information professionally and maintain confidentiality.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.
Willing to be placed in Kendal, Central Java.
