Job summary

J&T Express is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead gateway construction projects from planning to handover, ensuring quality, MEP compliance, and timely execution according to company standards.

Ideal candidates hold a relevant engineering degree, are fluent in Mandarin, and can coordinate with contractors on site, review drawings, oversee QC, and manage BoQ preparation and schedules. Travel and overtime are required; AutoCAD/SketchUp experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architecture, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Fluent in Mandarin (spoken and written) is required.
• Willing to travel and work overtime.
• Proficient in preparing and calculating the BoQ.
• Experience with AutoCAD and SketchUp; Enscape is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage Gateway construction projects end-to-end from initiation to closure.
• Conduct quality control inspections to ensure standards and specs are met.

• Ensure MEP installations comply with approved designs and specs.

The Engineering Management position is responsible for managing Gateway construction projects from the planning stage through project handover. This role ensures construction quality, compliance with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) designs, and smooth project execution in terms of technical requirements, administration, and on-site coordination, in accordance with company standards, project timelines, and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Gateway construction projects end-to-end, from the initiation phase through project closure.
• Conduct quality control inspections throughout project execution to ensure all work complies with established standards and specifications.
• Coordinate closely with contractors to monitor project progress, address challenges, and ensure timely project completion.
• Review and verify MEP working drawings to ensure the designs meet operational requirements.
• Ensure all MEP installations comply with approved designs, technical specifications, and operational requirements.
• Monitor the Testing & Commissioning process for all MEP installations.
• Supervise on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with designs, quality standards, and established project schedules.
• Provide prompt and effective technical solutions to resolve on-site issues.
• Manage project administrative and operational processes when unexpected circumstances cause project delays.
• Review and verify Renovation & Construction Handover (BAST) documents before project handover.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant engineering disciplines.
• Fluent in Mandarin (spoken and written) is required.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Willing to work overtime and travel out of town for business purposes.
• Proficient in preparing and calculating the Bill of Quantities (BoQ).
• Proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp; experience with Enscape is an advantage.
• Understand basic building structural principles and calculations.
• Strong problem-solving, on-site coordination, and time management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
