Job summary

Flex is seeking an Engineering Manager in Batam, Indonesia to lead manufacturing engineering efforts for MP, driving process improvements and coordinating SMT, Backend Assembly and Test teams.

The role emphasizes automation, quality, and capacity building to meet customer and product requirements, with a focus on continuous improvement, data-driven decisions, and strong leadership in electronics manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / manufacturing / process / engineering.
• 8+ years in Manufacturing engineering with electronics industry experience.
• Familiar with SMA & Assembly, Test processes and equipment.
• Lean Manufacturing and Six-Sigma knowledge.
• Industrial 4.0 and digitalization understanding.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Handle manufacturing process and equipment for MP

• SMT: Optimize SPI/AOI/AXI
• Backend Assembly: automation for quality
• Test: firmware download, electrical function test, burn-in, analysis

If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

The Engineering Manager will be based in Batam.

Responsibilities:

• Handle manufacturing process and equipment for MP
• Lead engineering activities across
• SMT: Drive SPI/AOI/AXI optimization
• Backend Assembly: Automation with high efficiency and Quality
• Test: Firmware download, Electrical function test, Burn in, TC Product Failure Analysis: On time Analysis and rework with responsibility for equipment, process development, yield improvement, and manufacturing quality
• To Build Machine Capacity and capability to meet Customer and product Requirement
• Receive TPI products from test run to Qualified MP, with efficiency and quality
• Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence by cross-functional collaboration
• Process SPC, lean, six sigma knowledge with data analysis and correlation knowledge
• Guide and train engineers and technician with solid team work spirit
• Projects assigned and lead the project team to meet targets predefined
• Contact window with Customer in overall engineering activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / manufacturing/ process/ engineering
• At least 8 years or above Manufacturing engineering. Experienced and showing a proven track record in Engineering, Manufacturing in Electronics industry
• Be familiar with SMA & Assembly, Test processes and equipment.
• Deep understanding of related and advanced manufacturing-technology processes
• Good knowledge of Industrial 4,0 and Digitalization
• Good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six-Sigma
• Good knowledge on Industrial Standard is a plus.
• Good Drive ability and strong collaboration
• Command good written and spoken English
• Good communication and leadership skills
