Responsibilities

• Manages a team of engineers and technicians to establish work measurement programs and evaluate work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
• Evaluates staff utilization, facility layout, and operational data to define efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
• Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities.
• Production planning and control systems to coordinate activities and ensure product quality.
• Designs or improves systems for the physical distribution of goods and services, and plant location optimization.
• Capacity management to meet customer demand.
• Manage Capex related activities.
• Continuous improvement on space utilization, throughput, line balance, and cycle time reduction via Kaizen/Lean projects.

Job description

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we’re calling SpinCo, until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

The Industrial Engineering Manager will be based in Batam. The role is responsible for managing a team of industrial engineers working on increasing productivity through the management of workers, methods of business organization, and technology to solve organizational, production, and related problems efficiently.

Key responsibilities

Manages a team of engineers and technicians to establish work measurement programs and evaluate work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.

Evaluates staff utilization, facility layout, and operational data, such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to define efficient utilization of workers and equipment.

Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocation work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.

Production planning and control systems to coordinate activities and ensure product quality.

Designs or improve systems for the physical distribution of goods and services, as well as defining the most efficient plant locations.

Capacity management to meet customer demand.

Manage Capex related activities.

Continuous improvement on Space utilization, throughput, line balance, Cycle Time reduction etc by lead Kaizen/Lean projects and activities.

About you

Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training.
