Job summary

Kempinski Hotels in Indonesia is seeking a capable Senior Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance of guest rooms and public areas, ensuring timely, defect-free work and compliance with Kempinski standards.

You will lead repairs, coordinate with various departments and vendors, and implement preventive maintenance programs while maintaining safety and guest satisfaction. Strong English and 2–3 years in a similar role at a 5-star property are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years as Senior Supervisor or Duty Engineer at a 5-star property.
• Strong English communication skills; able to interact with guests and team.
• Solid knowledge of MEP and VAC (chiller) systems and guest room maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise maintenance tasks for guest rooms and public areas.
• Coordinate with Front Desk, Housekeeping, and external vendors to ensure timely repairs.
• Inspect equipment, identify faults, and perform basic repairs.
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules and ensure Kempinski standards.

Job description

The incumbent closely monitors all processes related to ensuring high level of maintenance works done in the hotel and that they are timely and defect free.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond and attend to guest repair requests.
• Communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
• Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and all utility shut-offs for buildings.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment, plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets and unclog drains), electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace electrical switches and outlets, and other guestroom items.
• Program TV's and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.
• Perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping as well as external landscaping sprinklers.
• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and properly store flammable materials.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
• Maintains all hotel building and equipment in a good and neat condition.
• Ensures that effective and concise preventative maintenance schedules are followed.
• Ensures timely completion of all assigned tasks and responsibilities.
• Inspects all areas and take corrective measures in order to meet Kempinski Standards in terms of maintenance and hotel upkeep.
• Coordinates maintenance duties with various departments such as Front Desk, Housekeeping, Sales and Marketing and Food & Beverage to ensure that all guestrooms and public areas are clean and well maintained in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintains a good working relationship with other employees, providing instruction and encouragement as needed.
• Ensures a clean, neat and organized work area.
• Performs other tasks or projects as assigned by General Manager, Director of Engineering and /or assistant Director of Engineering.
• Performs duties outside the scope of the position in case of emergency, when called upon.
• Attends meetings and training sessions as required.
• Accomplishes a set of administrative duties such as leading and attending meeting, writing reports and memos and other specific duties related to the job function.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Minimum 2 - 3 years experience as Senior Supervisor or Duty Engineering in 5 star property
• Strong communication skills with minimum intermediate English skills
• Good knowledge in MEP & VAC (chiller) system
• Well understanding of guest room maintenance operations
• Shows capability to manage, supervise and execute guest room improvement project
• Able to work and communicate intensively with landscaping team and external parties in maintaining the quality of the outdoor garden and building exterior facade in guest room building
