Job summary

Meratus Group in Indonesia is seeking a Designated Person Ashore (DPA) to ensure the safe operation of our fleet and full compliance with environmental regulations. The DPA will oversee, verify, and continuously improve the Safety Management System (SMS/SMK) ashore and onboard.

Key responsibilities include drafting SMS documentation, auditing, and acting as the primary liaison between Shipmasters and Top Management to ensure safety policies are implemented effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Management, Engineering, or Physical Science.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a shipping company.
• Valid DPA certificate and Lead Auditor certificate.
• Knowledge of ISM Code and SOLAS.

Responsibilities

• Draft, update, and control SMS/SMK documents and risk plans.
• Act as liaison between Shipmasters and Top Management on safety policies.
• Monitor safety, security and environmental compliance on all vessels.
• Design and run internal and external SMS audits; report findings.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Lead Emergency Response Team meetings and safety briefings.
• Plan and monitor ISM Code/SMK training for personnel.
• Stay updated on ISM Code and SOLAS regulations.

Education

Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Management/Engineering/Physical Science
