Job summary

Chain is seeking an individual to oversee staff members and ensure accurate invoicing and payment collection. The role involves implementing collection policies, negotiating with customers, and preparing reports.

As part of this position, you will be required to remain informed on compliance with various Malaysian laws and maintain strong client relationships. This is a pivotal position to enhance the effectiveness of our collection department.

Job description

• Overseeing staff members and ensuring the accurate and timely invoicing of customers.
• Setting payment collection goals and targets for the department.
• Creating and implementing a strategy to improve the collection of outstanding credit.
• Implementing collection policies and procedures to avoid excessive outstanding credit.
• Ensuring that the company policy on recoveries is followed and that it is in line with state and federal regulations.
• Implementing deadlines for invoicing and payment collection.
• Negotiating with customers in cases when non-payment occurs.
• Preparing monthly feedback reports on payment collections.
• Remaining informed of any legislative procedural training regarding debt collection.
• Run reports and analyze data pertaining to the department and share with executive staff and managers of department staff as needed.
• Communicate with clients to build and maintain a strong working relationship and reduce the number of clients who stop working with the company.
• To fully abide with the governing laws and policy of the Malaysian Government and Bank Negara Malaysia especially on the following:
  • The Financial Services Act 2013 (FSA) - BNM
  • Islamic Financial Services Act 2013 (IFSA) - BNM
  • Personal Data Protection Act 2010 - BNM
  • Prohibited Business Conduct (Issued NOV 2014) - BNM.
  • Fair Debt Collection Practices.
  • Any other related Malaysian laws, regulations, policies, etc.
