Job summary

GRIT Search has been retained by an international data centre business to appoint a VP / Country Manager, Indonesia, based in Jakarta. You will lead the Indonesian operations and development agenda, working closely with regional and global leadership.

Reporting to the Managing Director, APAC, you will drive country strategy, manage budgets, and align stakeholders across local, regional and US teams to ensure progress against milestones while fostering a high-performance culture.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in infrastructure, real estate, or large-scale development with senior leadership experience in Indonesia.
• Demonstrated knowledge of permitting and approvals.
• Strong track record of building teams, developing culture and leading through growth or change.
• Experience managing local teams alongside regional and global stakeholders.
• Commercial judgement, with experience managing budgets, business plans and performance.
• Experience managing joint ventures, partnerships and complex stakeholder relationships.
• Data centre experience preferred; relevant backgrounds in power, utilities, telecom infrastructure, industrial estates or large-scale real estate development will also be considered.

Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, APAC, you will lead the company’s Indonesian operations and development agenda, bringing local expertise and clear leadership to a complex international environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Work with regional teams to progress land and power acquisition, construction and operational readiness.

• Develop relationships with authorities, utilities, partners and suppliers.

Requirements

• At least 15 years’ experience in infrastructure, real estate or large-scale development, including substantial senior leadership responsibility in Indonesia.
• Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience of permitting and approvals.
• A strong track record of building teams, developing culture and leading through growth or change.
• Experience managing local teams alongside regional and global stakeholders.
• Commercial judgement, with experience managing budgets, business plans and business performance.
• Experience managing joint ventures, partnerships and complex stakeholder relationships.
• Data centre experience is preferred. Relevant backgrounds in power, utilities, telecom infrastructure, industrial estates or large-scale real estate development will also be considered.
• Strong communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
